The Coola Road label debuted in 2013 and we have continued to expand on our range of cool climate wines in the years since. Now producing award winning Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris, Riesling, Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay – all single vineyard and all 100% family owned.
With abundant underground water and our proximity to the Southern Ocean, Mount Gambier has proved itself as one of Austraila’s most exciting wine growing regions. The maritime influence of this area in conjunction with the shallow limestone and flint rocks and cool ripening temperatures ensure crop levels are low and full of flavour.
Our vineyards lie adjacent to our grazing property, Coola Station. A property that has been in our family for over 170 years. Already producing lamb and beef, we were encouraged to diversify into grape production as a result of enjoying a climate very similar to some of the worlds most recognised wine regions – namely, Chablis, Burgundy and Marlborough. These ideas, coupled with our families love of wine and the manner in which it brings people together has led us to produce a label of our own. We are very proud of our long-standing association with primary industry, our ties to our local area and the wines we are able to offer.
