2017 Pinot Noir
A brilliant exhibit of what this unique vineyard can produce. This Pinot Noir is a wonderful expression of fruit with a textual palate of cherry and a nose of savoury herbs and spices. With a smooth, long finish, this wine’s high acidity will enable it to be cellared for many years to come.
Coola Road wines come from grapes grown on land that has been in the Ellis family for over 160 years. The vineyards lie across fractured flint beds which together with the close proximity to the Southern Ocean and low cropping levels, have enabled the wines to take on very unique mineral qualities not found anywhere else in Australia. Mount Gambier is Australia’s newest official wine appellation, and with the mainland’s coolest maritime climate, it is an area that is now being recognised for producing high quality cool climate wines.
